Our Northern Maryland Board

Meet those who serve our ministry

Lisa Fleming

Fleming Financial Services – Family-Owned Business

Lisa is a retired CPA.  She loves to be on mission for God and her community. She has been on four mission trips - three to Kenya and one to the Dominican Republic. On these mission trips she has led sports ministry events. Lisa and her husband, Rusty, enjoy playing and coaching sports. They have three grown kids who they coached in soccer and lacrosse. Lisa played field hockey at Salisbury University. Currently, she plays tennis and pickleball. Lisa sees playing sports as a way to connect with people and build relationships. She sees the value of team sports as an example of how working together, we can accomplish more and make a bigger difference both on the field and for God’s Kingdom.
Lisa is currently in a bible study with Devon (Northern Maryland FCA Admin Assistant). Devon introduced her to Northern Maryland FCA. Lisa’s motto that she tries to live by is “Love God, Love People and Serve the World.” Lisa is honored to be on the FCA board. She sees the value that FCA brings to the community. Lisa sees serving on the board as an opportunity to serve her community and help grow the Kingdom of God.

Ron Leubecker

CFO at Louis J. Grasmick Lumber Company

Ron got involved with FCA primarily through the teams ministry.  He could see how FCA was ministering to two of his kids (Ryan and Hannah) and their peers through the influence of coaches.  The teams provided an opportunity for students who didn't have a team to play for at their school, as well as for homeschoolers.  They both could play in competitive high school leagues. With the added benefit of huddles and bible study to be both evangelistic, it helped the kids grow in their faith and take on leadership positions within their team.

"What I love about FCA is that it shares the good news of the gospel with coaches and athletes at all levels, and encourages them to think and believe counter culturally, by entering into a relationship with the Living God, and creator of the universe, and to love their teammates."

Stephen enjoys leading a men’s group once a week with his church Freedom in Bel Air, Maryland. Throughout the years Stephen has served on multiple not for profit, fail based boards. He feels that it is an honor to serve on the board alongside of many amazing individuals.

Jeff & Mary Paxson

President at Pax-Edwards LLC

Jeff and Mary became involved with FCA when their son started to play for FCA Lacrosse. Their son’s involvement had a great impact on the entire family. They were so impressed with the ministry. FCA was a gift from God during a tough time for their family. In our world, many get out of the habit of going to church regularly. Kids sports take up many family’s weekends. The FCA ministry meets families exactly where they are - the ball field. Currently both Paxson boys play for FCA lacrosse.

Our introduction to Northern Maryland FCA came when Jeff joined a men's Bible study led by Steve Medinger. Jeff and Mary are honored to be a part of the FCA board. Sports has always been an important part of their lives. Jeff played college baseball at Towson University, and Mary played college field hockey at Roanoke College. They are excited to help grow Northern Maryland FCA.
