2017 MIL Conference Champions! Boys and Girls!

FCA Falcons Co-ed Cross Country

FCA Falcons Cross-Country began in 2016. In just our second year, both our boys and girls won our conference championship in 2017. Like all FCA teams, cross-country exists to glorify God by using our athletic abilities. We have regular devotions and reflect on how often God uses running and racing as analogy for the Christian life.

Practice: The best way to improve in XC is to RUN. We mix regular runs with speedwork and long runs.

Days: In 2017, practices are Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 4:30-6:00PM.

Location: Mon/Thurs: Cedar Lane Regional Park, 1100 Cedar Ln, Bel Air, MD 21015. Fridays: Field trip day. Location will vary.

Rules: A cross-country meet consists of a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) race. Team scoring is accomplished by adding up the places of the top five runners, with low score winning. If we don’t have five runners, we do not score as a team, but individuals can still run and get an individual place. Boys and girls meets are together, sometimes running at the exact same time, and separating results, and sometimes running separate races immediately after the other.

League: In 2017 we have joined the Mid-Atlantic Independent League (MIL). This league has four schools with XC. The other schools are in Cecil County Maryland. We also participate in the Maryland Private School State Championship meet and other invitational meets, including a road trip to Ohio.

Athletes: Cross-country includes both a boys and girls team who practice and go to meets together. Our teams consist of both new and experienced runners. All abilities are welcome.

Coach: Dan Foster ran XC and track throughout high school and into college, where he was the manager of a strong XC team. He is enthusiastic to coach his favorite sport. E-mail Dan at

Registration: The registration fee for 2017 is $300. This includes league and meet registration, uniforms, team jackets, home course set-up, as well as our road trip costs. Registration forms are below.
